Patti's Preschool Newsletter, February 2025
Our theme this month is Transportation and Community Helpers. The children will be learning about different ways to travel. Some of their projects will include painting with toy cars, making transportation collages, and matching/sorting/counting colored cars and trucks. Community helpers and their jobs will also be discussed this month. We are looking forward to celebrating the contributions and achievements of African Americans during Black History Month. February will be a busy month!
Our Stepping Up class along with Rooms 3 and 5 will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Friday, January 31st. The teachers have planned many fun activities such as decorating with 100 stickers, counting 100 food items to make a special snack, completing 100 exercises, and staying quiet for 100 seconds!
Book orders are due Friday morning, February 7th. You may order books online through the Scholastic website! Our class code is GW3RF. Please see the front office for more information!
Parent/teacher conferences for Ms. Jennifer’s class will be held during the week of February 3. Conferences for Ms. Susan, Ms. Catherine and Ms. Lauren will follow. Conferences for all remaining classes will continue through the first week of April. Our annual calendar lists all of the conference dates. (Please check our website) Conferences are not mandatory. If you are interested in meeting with your child’s teacher over the phone, please remember to sign up in the classroom or on ClassDojo for a convenient time.
Dr. Beanca Children’s Dentistry will be visiting our school on Monday, February 3 to teach students the importance of proper dental care! Your child will be excited to take home their special goody bags and practice their new skills!
The children will be exchanging valentines on Friday, February 14. Please send valentines for your child’s classmates (not the entire school). Please check with your child’s teacher regarding special activities planned for that day. Wish lists for party items will be posted on ClassDojo. We appreciate any donations!
Celebrating birthdays this month are Bree, Kyla, Kerry, Ramzi, Londyn, and Aris. Our assistant director, Ms. Sandy, is also celebrating this month! Happy birthday to all!
Our Stepping Up teacher, Ms. Jennifer, is celebrating her 3-year anniversary this month. We appreciate all her hard work and dedication!
We are extremely grateful for the warm breakfast and coffee provided by the Adams family and the Walsh family! Staff were delighted to return from the holidays to a delicious treat. Our tummies were happy!
We would like to thank the Cranor family for their thoughtful donation of large trucks, a barn playset, and an activity rug! Many thanks as well to the Martin family for their kind donation of trains, puzzles, matching games, and a community helper playset! We made great use of these toys in the classrooms and in the playground! We also appreciate the hefty donation of scrapbook paper and cardstock from the Kennedy family. Teachers were thrilled to try new, creative crafts with their class!

School is closed Monday, February 17th, in celebration of Presidents’ Day. We hope everyone has a fun and safe long weekend.
